Playing in the dirt..Blogged Bible Study
Today will be short. I am with out power and posting from my Blacberry.
This week we are looking at John 9. This chapter contains my favorite paralelles to the Old Testiment.
In Gen 2:7 we read
The Lord God formed the man from the
dust of the ground….
In John 9:6 we read
Having said this he spit on the ground
made some mud with his saliva, and
put it on the man’s eyes.
It seems God likes playing in the dirt.
A friend of mine once asked his 9 year old, “Why did Jesus use mud to heal the man that was blind from birth?”. His Son calmly looked at him and said “Well dad, the man never had eyes. Jesus made some for him with the mud.” My friend was speachless at the implications.
We were formed from the dirt of the earth, what better way for Jesus to heal this man than with the dirt he was created from. While at the same time proving His divinity as the creator to all those watching.

again the finger of God…for HIS glory.
There is also a verse in Gensis that states God made a garden..again playing in the dirt…
Good post, I didn’t get that far, I got stuck in the first three verses.
lots to think about…hope your power is on when you wake up!
Gen. 2:8 God planted a garden…can you imagine God planting a garden?
Praying for you guys!
This aparked a look into the medical applications of mud. Kind of interesting…of course, we know He didn’t need mud. He does seem to enjoy playing in it, though. Maybe that’s where I get it?!
