A not so childish decision…Would Einstein approve?
A personal follow up to my post on: http://philter48.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/me-ah-me-no-godam-i-being-childish/
Yes I am still on my Einstein kick. The more I think about his statements the more I realize how elitist those statements are.
I don’t care if his IQ was off the charts or not, sometimes a person has to just respect the beliefs of another person and move on. Even I as a follower of Christ have to understand and respect that not everyone is going to choose to follow Christ, that is their decision, their choice.
So can a Child make a decision that is not selfish in any way? Does a child know enough to put a strangers needs in front of their’s? Well last night I got my answer from my Daughter. Her are the pictures. See if you can guess what it is for before I explain. Then tell me your heart did not melt after looking at the pictures, mine sure did last night.
As a father these are the moments you live for. When all your love, direction, teaching, and correcting are poured out by your child in one SELFLESS act.
Emilie gave her long curls to Locks of Love. A not so easy decision for a child that now has to walk into school looking different, wondering if jokes will be made. But Em will endure those jokes, knowing in her heart of hearts, that her long curls will goto another child who is worried about jokes being made about a bald head, caused by medication that helps them overcome cancer.
Oh how I wish Einstein was alive so that I could ask him about this child’s decision.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow…. My children are a true blessing… My Christ is my Savior.

That’s really twisted logic.
Einstein said the idea of the biblical God was childish – an idea constructed by a mind not yet fully developed.
You tell a story of a girl who got her hair cut.
Am I missing something here?

Ckroboth’s Response to above…
She has a heart of a servant, like Christ, and not worried about what other people think.
Faith is a leap… My God asks us for our Faith to be like that of a child. What better example of how to live that faith than a child.
Einstein has it right, whether he intended to or not. Sometimes we tend to over think our beliefs. What Christ is telling us when he says “Faith of a Child”, is to not over think it, trust Father God it is ok to be childish, and trust him.
